STYLE: HEADINGS
Heading 1
Don’t set H1 inline. The title is your only h1. (I think, I have to check that with SEO)
Heading 2
Most commonly used – use H2 for overview and navigation.
Heading 3
Rare – when ever you want to go into detail.
Heading 4
Super rare – consider that the size of an H4 is just slightly larger than paragraph text.
Headings below 4 won’t be shown in the automatic created table of contents on the left (desktop only)
Heading 5
Hyper rare – Heading 5 is smaller than paragraph text (here in Substack).
Heading 6
Don’t use – your table of contents will look like shit and nobody gets your point :D
Inserting Media
link inserts work as you’d expect, but whats cool, if you paste link from social platforms the embed is automatic (like spotify or youtube links)
Quotes look like this:
Block Quote
Pull Quote
The following is about those media types:
images
audio
video
You can insert links, image files and galleries (up to 9 images), audio files, video files and embeds for all sorts of other media (just paste the plain link)
Images
you can even edit them! rotate, flip, crop, add filters or adjust parameters like brightness, contrast, saturation or clarity. you can annotate and draw or write on images, and you can add stickers (little images) to your image. and you can blur specific parts of an image.
3 width settings as seen below: normal, wide and full
Image Galleries
up to 9 images
open beautifully in a gallery set

Paywall
Everything below a “paywall” can only be read by paid subscribers – it’s not in here, because I wanted to make this post available to anyone, enable comments (so you can have a look at this feature as well).
The only dumb thing I’ve just noticed: since your footnotes go below the paid content (automatically – at the end of the document) just paid users can read the footnotes?! Thats a bug.
Footnotes are a damn cool feature! They re-organise themselves. And the little number on the right side is clickable and brings you to that section of the page.
